Good habits. Better blocks.
Most of us already do our part. CleanerNYC is about building on that — encouraging simple everyday habits,
recognizing local businesses that care for their surroundings, and exploring with the next generation
how the small choices we make every day add up to cleaner neighborhoods.
I started CleanerNYC after nearly 20 years of living in Brooklyn. It’s a personal project that I’m developing with schools,
local businesses, community organizations, and public institutions — starting here in Brooklyn,
with the goal of building something that can grow across New York City.
Starting Local
Cleaner neighborhoods are shaped by the people who use them, the businesses that serve them, and the public services that support them. CleanerNYC focuses on these three parts of neighborhood life — starting with
schools, local businesses and local authorities.
Bringing CleanerNYC Workshops to Schools
Helping young New Yorkers explore waste, litter, responsible consumption and the role each of us plays in caring for our city.
Partnering With Local Businesses
Recognizing local businesses that commit to keeping the area around their storefronts clean and managing their waste responsibly.
Engaging With Local
Authorities
Help Me Build CleanerNYC
CleanerNYC is a growing project, and I’m looking for schools, local businesses, community partners,
and sponsors who would like to be part of it.
If you’d like to bring a workshop to your school, join the Eco-Label, support the project, or if you have an idea to share,
I’d be glad to hear from you.
